Happy birthday, Tetsuko Kuroyanagi! The Japanese actress and TV talk-show host is the author of the bestselling children’s book Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window. She is also heavily involved in charitable efforts: As a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, she has visited Cambodia, Rwanda, and Afghanistan, and she founded the Totto Foundation, which trains professional actors who have hearing impairments.
