The Wizard of Lies, a film based on the book

Watched this film over the weekend - had to split it in two, to absorb it all.  The "F" bomb is used so much, one might need to "wash out their ears" after viewing.

Surely, by now, most everyone has heard of Bernie Madoff - the most crooked of crooks in our time.
Robert De Niro portrays Bernie - excellently done.
Michelle Pfeiffer portrays Bernie's "pathetic" wife Ruth - also excellently done.

The author of the book - same title - Diana B. Henriques portrays herself in the film, which made for interesting scenes with "Bernie" in prison.

What an awful excuse of a father, husband, grandfather, brother, "friend" and financial adviser!  There must be a special place in Hell for him, for what he did to so many people around the country.  He must be a very lonely man in prison, since both his sons have pre-deceased him, and Ruth quit going to see him in prison, what a lonely life she must be having as well, Guilt by association.

NOT a light and fuzzy movie, but certainly one well worth viewing in light of what's going on in our country, financially.
