Shetland, a BBC series

We bumped into this "new" series, started watching it last night.  Very interesting, a whole new accent to learn, with incredible scenery!
Oh my, there was only one (yes, one!) four letter word that I recall in the two segments we viewed!
Give it a try.

Quote of the day-----Goodreads

Language is a poor enough means of communication as it is. So we should use all the words we have.

Caitlín R. Kiernan

Happy birthday, Caitlín R. Kiernan! Before her first novel was published in 1998, the Irish novelist fronted a "goth-folk-blues band" called Death's Little Sister. The band name was inspired by Neil Gaiman and his Sandman series.

Although I agree with mostly with this quote, we should be "mindful" of the words that we do use, especially our current political candidates.

Thought for the Day

Ah, if only our political candidates would consider this Swiss proverb before spouting off!

Sometimes you have to be silent in order to be heard.

I once saw an electronic reader board in Chicago that pretty much stated the same idea

Silence once broken can never be repeated.

Remember, a film by Atom Egoyan

"Remember" a film by Atom Egoyan, starring Christopher Plummer and Martin Landau.

We recently watched this film - about Holocaust survivors in the United States - as they age naturally they become unable to stay in their own homes - so we have Christopher and Martin being "friends" in this setting.

Christopher's character is in search of a long lost Nazi who worked at Auschwitz, boarding trains and buses, we follow him across the U.S.

Excellent acting - on the verge of our seats the entire time.
One scene has graphic violence and lots of foul and racist language, just get past that.

That's all I will reveal.
