Dick's Sporting Goods I

This headline from CBS website

Dick's Sporting Goods will stop selling assault weapons

Although it is likely they will lose some business with this decision, I congratulate them for taking this stand against the NRA.

USA held Hostage by NRA

Current population of the United States of America ----  323.1 Million

Current membership of the NRA  5 Million

Current number of AR style firearms in the United States of America  12 Million

So 5 Million NRA members are holding the rest of the USA population - 318.1 Million -citizens HOSTAGE over Gun Control!  Seems to me that it is time for the 318.1 Million folks to take back control of their elected officials, who have been "bought off" by the NRA!

NRA

Maybe, JUST maybe, after a school shooting, it is time for the communities to send the re-construction bills of schools to the NRA, and let them have to come to terms with these horrific events!

Rest in Peace

Rest in Peace beautiful souls of Parkland.

Maudie, a film

We recently watched this delightful, yet bittersweet film.

Sally Hawkins portrays Maud Lewis, Ethan Hawke portrays her husband, Everett. Her paintings appear throughout the film.

Maud suffers from a variety of physical aliments, plus she is a very heavy smoker, however, through all her pain and suffering, she paints the most incredibly light-filled works of art - they seem primitive, yet when you look at them, they are very complex.

Sally and Ethan gave outstanding performances in their roles.

Although, they were from Nova Scotia, the filming took place in Newfoundland due to some interesting tax issues.  You can certainly FEEL the cold during the winter scenes (my husband lived in Newfoundland and knows how cold it gets there).

This film is worth every minute spent - make sure that you watch ALL the special features, after watching the film...  Their home now resides in the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in Halifax, thanks to the residents of Digby, Nova Scotia who made attempts to restore it, the Province of Nova Scotia finally purchased it.

The deleted scenes, in the special features, have some remarkable moments of film, it is too bad that some of those scenes were deleted. Director, Aisling Walsh, Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke give interesting insights to not only the making of the film, but of Maud's and Everett's lives.

This is a must see!   Hope you enjoy!👍👍👍

Fly Eagles Fly!!!!

After the Seahawks super bowl win, the Eagles super bowl win is the greatest ever!!!!
Al Michaels and Chris Collingsworth both showed their favoritism for the Patriots in going on non-stop about this touchdown!  They should be reprimanded for not being neutral!

This catch by Nick Foules BEST touchdown ever! Notice the number 9 - my favorite number - last Friday coming and going to town and back, I observed 9 eagles!!!!!! Perchance an "Omen" of what was to come?
